How Ergobaby Omni 360 Cool Air Mesh Carrier keeps us on the go

If you’ve been following One Sharp Mama for a while, you’ve probably read about how we LOVE to use baby carriers. We have been through a couple over the last two years with our older daughter.

This post is sponsored by Ergobaby. We were sent the new Ergobaby Omni 360 Cool Air Mesh baby carrier to try out and review. All opinions are our own. This post may contain affiliate links. If you use those links, I may make a small profit from, at no extra cost to you.

How the Omni 360 CAM Baby Carrier keeps us on the go

Previously, we had been loving the regular Omni 360 carrier. It had been all over the States with us and on many family adventures.

Just like the previous carrier, the Omni 360 Cool Air Mesh (CAM) is just as awesome. It has been perfect for the summer time heat and summer time adventures.

This past summer was packed full of fun family time. We went on a couple small family road trips and, of course, had the CAM baby carrier with us.

Caroline is quick on her feet, much too quick for a third trimester pregnant mama to keep up with her most days. So, when we venture out, I try to have the carrier with me so I can keep her safe, but, she can still be seeing the sights if she wants to.

She hasn’t been too big on staying in the stroller, so having the very versatile carrier with us is always a good option. The Omni 360 CAM is made with versatility, easy and comfort in mind. It can change between each of the positions in a snap.

Using the baby carrier safely

Carrying a baby with a baby carrier should never be uncomfortable for you or your child. You both should always feel comfortable as you keep the ABC’s of baby wearing in mind.

Make sure to check your child’s airways. When your child is parent facing, you should be able to kiss your child’s forehead and always be able to see their face to make sure they can breathe safely.

Make sure your child is in the proper body position while being carried. The CAM baby carrier was made with keeping proper hip health in mind.

When your child is being carried in the front parent facing position, make sure the baby is being carried without slumping and the knees are kept at the level of or above their bottom.

Once your child can hold his or her own head up and has good neck control to keep their head above the carrier, then you can flip them around to the facing out position. Do not flip them around until they can safely have good head and neck control.

Once baby matures some more and can sit safely on their own, they can be changed to the hip carrying position and/or the back carrying position.

Like I mentioned before, carrying should always be comfortable for you and the baby. Anytime you feel uncomfortable or notice that your child seems uncomfortable, stop and evaluate the carrier and positioning of your child.

About the CAM baby carrier

The CAM baby carrier was designed for newborns (at least 7lbs and 20 inches) all the way through around a 45lb toddler. The CAM baby carrier is a unique carrier for newborn use because you don’t have to have a specific or separate newborn insert.

The Omni 360 CAM baby carrier even has special lumbar support and extra cushion in the shoulder cross pads to help keep you and baby safe and comfortable.

The carrier is made with Cool Air Mesh material which has been great for the summer heat recently. Carrying a toddler around can make it seem even hotter. But with the breathable mesh material, it helps keep our toddler and the parent carrying her nice and cool.

Even with all the heat and sweat, I’ve never noticed her having any rashes or marks left on her skin from carrying her around in it.

Using the baby carrier in our future

In the next couple weeks we are expecting another little girl. We are sure she will love being carried around just as much as Caroline did when she was very young.

Having the CAM baby carrier is great for newborns so they can feel safe and secure up against mom or dad and you can still have your hands free to do whatever you need to do throughout the day.

I’m hoping I can even keep our second daughter in the carrier when we go for walks and when I’m cleared to start working out again!
