If you didn’t already know, we are awaiting the arrival of our second child any day now. Thankfully, this pregnancy has been much smoother than our first one.

With the third trimester very upon us, there has been quite a few things that need to be done before baby number two arrives so we feel prepared.
With a second pregnancy, for us, we didn’t have that many baby essential needs or products to buy that we didn’t already have from our first one.
We kept all our first borns clothes, big furniture, pack n play, swing, etc. just so we were ready when we decided to have a second child.
We also made sure to buy products that were gender neutral for the big items like swings, pack n plays, high chairs, etc. that way they could work if we had a boy or a girl the next time as well.
So, really all we needed to get this time were some newborn and baby essentials. Nothing all that extravagant.
Second time around Baby Prep :
Diapers and Wipes:
You can never have enough diapers and wipes with any baby. You’ll go through them you won’t even imagine.
Diapers can get super expensive. Have you read about the 8 ways to cut costs on diapers yet?
Any extra diapers we had from our first daughter we saved. When she was ready to go to the next size, I didn’t stress out, I just tossed them in a grocery bag and put them into the closet to store until we were ready for baby number two.

Breastfeeding Supplies :
Our insurance company is covering a new breast pump. So we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of that one, just as we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our daughter.
But, other than a breast pump, there were a few breastfeeding essentials I needed to restock on and make sure we had enough of.
Have you downloaded the FREE Pumping Session in Progress Downloadable Printable to hang on your door so others know you’re busy feeding or providing food for your little one?
Some of these supplies included new nursing pads. This time around I am going to try disposable ones and washable ones to see if one is more absorbent than the other and see if one works better for me or not.
I also needed to grab a new tube of nipple lanolin cream. This is every breastfeeding mothers necessity.
With the need for nursing pads, came for the need of new nursing bras.

Meal prep :
I’ve already been running out of energy at the end of the work day while being pregnant. I know that once baby number two gets here, plus having our first daughter, I will have NO energy to spend on cooking each night.
I’m lucky enough that my husband has been helping with the cooking most nights or we have been getting carry out.
So, in order to help him, help me, I wanted to get a few meals prepped and ready in the freezer.
I had a couple home cooked meals all put together in the freezer, so they’re easy to grab and get going.
I’d recommend finding some crock pot recipes to try, some instant pot recipes and whatever else you find that is easy to prep and make for meals.
Any time recently that I have made spaghetti sauce, soup, chili, etc. I have made an extra batch or two and stuck them in the freezer so the main, hard part of the meal is already done.
Delicious Frank’s RedHot Wings :
Keeping with the fall theme, I wanted to grab some easy meals like bone-in wings and frozen pizzas.
I made a run to our local Walmart and found that Frank’s RedHot was making Bone-InWings now! You can find them in the freezer section.
Since Frank’s RedHot Cayenne Pepper sauce was used as the secret ingredient in the first Buffalo Wings recipe from NY in 1964, I knew these bone-in wings had to be delicious and would make for the perfect meal when I just didn’t have the energy to cook with a newborn and toddler.
We already love using the Frank’s RedHot brand sauce with many of our other meal ideas I kept in the freezer, so why not try the bone-in wings too!
Knowing the Frank’s RedHot Wings would be good, I grabbed a few extra bags out of the freezer section of Walmart and made sure we were stocked up for when visitors came to see our new family addition as well.
I wanted to make sure we had an easy way to share some snacks with our family as they shared their love with our growing family.
Our family sat anxiously awaiting the chance to try out these delicious wings and were very excited to share how much they loved them!
