Winter Maternity Clothing Ideas
Are you looking for winter maternity clothing for this chilly winter season? I have found quite a few ideas to share with you here! I know some people have a hard time justifying spending the money on clothing “just to be used while pregnant”.
I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND that. I get it so much that I didn’t want to do it either. So, I decided that I would find cute maternity clothing, but, it had to be FUNCTIONAL.
It had to last me more than just the time I was pregnant. I had to find clothing items that I could wear after I was pregnant.
If I could wear it for more than just a short period of time, then it was justifiable – by me at least.
I also wanted to find winter maternity clothing that was not just functional but could be used as nursing clothing as well. A lot of companies are creating winter maternity clothing that can also have a nursing function but not look too tacky.
They have found ways to hide the fact that it is a double clothing. So, now you’re probably wondering how I found clothing that could double when I was super huge and pregnant- to when I was returning to a normal sized human being.
Well, that had to do with the types of clothing that I picked.
I loved leggings, leggings are my life. Whether pregnant or not, I love wearing leggings. No, I’m not talking about super expensive LLR leggings.
NO offense if they’re your thing- that’s fine, they’re just out of my price range.
So, I found pregnancy leggings that I still wear a year later! They had the band so it laid under the belly, so they are comfortable and cute. I still wear them to this day, they’re that comfy. Yes, I may or may not be wearing them as I write this post 🙂
You can’t even tell that they’re maternity leggings now. You can see some other leggings here too. They’re comfy and cute

Now, I didn’t care for maternity jeans. I felt too restricted and I was NOT a fan of the belly belt thingy. I felt like it constantly made me feel like there was something on my belly pressing down- so it was not for me personally.
Since it clung to your skin for support, I felt like I could always see it through my shirt and I was already self conscious enough, I didn’t need to draw any more attention to my big old belly.
Again, that’s a matter of personal opinion. To each – their own!
For other winter maternity clothing needs, like tops, I had to find tops that had a stretchy fabric that could grow with my belly, yet could shrink after birth.
