Roger the Mini Dragon and the Magic Meadow
I was given Roger The Mini Dragon and Magic Meadow at no cost by the author, Trish Sardinha. I’d like to share my thoughts with you on it and make you aware of how you can get it if you’d like to have it to read with or to your little ones. Please know that there are some affiliate links in this post, that if you use, I may make a small profit from- at no extra cost to you.
Lately, I have been finding that Caroline is (finally) very interested in her books. I’ve been reading to her since she was very young. But, she hasn’t ever seemed quite interested until recently. By interested I mean, looking at the pages and watching mommy as I move my fingers across the words that I am reading to her. She even tries to eat the pages- yes, we are in that stage of life right now. Teeth are on the move, again! But, any interest I can get from her about reading is a plus in my eyes. The more I get her used to reading and enjoying it, the more (I hope) she will learn to love it throughout her life. She loves bringing them to me and laying in the DockATot while I read them to her. We also make sure to keep an extra book or two in the car for when we go out. If we go to dinner, toys haven’t been her thing lately, but she does enjoy flipping though a good book and of course, throwing it onto the ground in true baby style when she’s done.
I truly enjoy reading when I have the spare time. It doesn’t seem to be often enough though, but that’s beside the point. When I find a good book, I get into it and that’s all I can think about. I wanted to make sure I always had my book with me, but I didn’t always have room in my purse or my bag. So, I started reading books on my kindle app on my phone. I thought it was awesome to be able to fly through the book on my phone. However, I did notice that my eyes would hurt a little later, because, at the time, I was reading on my Iphone 5s with a small screen. My in laws took note that I was thoroughly enjoying books this way and were kind enough to spring for a refurbished Kindle Paperwhite for me for my birthday this past year.
I can’t tell you how excited I was to be able to take my books easily with me and be able to flip (figuratively) through them whenever I had the time. I truly appreciated this thoughtful gift. I have even found free children’s books online that I could download to my Kindle and read to Caroline. This has saved many physical books from her lovely teething experiences. She knows that she is not allowed to try and bite Mommy’s Kindle.
I was very excited to see a cute chapter book. I could only imagine how much Caroline would eventually love it, as it is a chapter book (a little more than her patience tolerance can handle at eleven months of age). I also knew, in the mean time that my younger sister who is 7 would enjoy it as well. I was so excited to get this chapter book. My sister was quite excited to get her hands on a new book as well. Reading from the Kindle was neat for her as well since she’s in that age where anything electronic is way more cool than anything else. I don’t want to get into too many details about the book because I don’t want to spoil the adventure for you. But, just know that you’ll love Roger the Mini Dragon and his cute, heart warming friends as they welcome him into the world.
I can’t wait to hear what you think about the book and please share what you think your kids favorite books are in the comments below.
